Roen

As exhausting as today was the sheer comfort and recentering of my life in this moment made the constant foggy pull of sleep well worth the day. Roen is home, talkative, energetic and full of tales. I feel as though I could lean against her warm body and sleep to the sounds of her adventures. Luna is crazy per usual, galloping through the house bearly containing her excitement at Roen's return. Things have returned to their natural place.

How I love this life.

Dream softly my love.

Always,

Babbling Brooks and babies

The freedom of childhood to babble incoherent sounds in a crowded public space at the top of one's lungs. It's beautiful.

I watched strangers comfort one another. Such polarities in circumstance yet a universal thread connecting them, the ache of frienships, uncertainty and uneasiness surrounding human connection. For a brief moment I felt like I knew them. Like I could rise from my seat and embrace my saddened friends. It makes me ache to be as free as that baby but I am also greatful that I was able to feel our connection even if they do not know my name or face.

Dream softly my love.

Always,

Reaching For What Is Tangible

For as long as I can remember I have been sad. I have been angry but I have also been consistently striving for happiness. It is such a strange phrase. Happiness  should not be something that involves striving. It isn't a goal or a destination but a choice. You don't have to try to be happy, you choose to be happy. And for once I am choosing to be happy. Willow will be happy. I am purging myself to be reborn. A happier, lighter being. Something that has a tinkling laugh and consistently floats above her life to flit and dance in the unadulterated joy that is living. This does not mean that sadness is not felt or anger does not rise but that I choose to be more. For so long I have struggled with insecurities and self doubt and I have fed her through morose posts and general indulgence of self pity. But I am more then that. I can and will be more.

Today I woke to soft blankets tangled about my form. I woke from adventure and into the loving reality of a shared home. Luna cooed to be fed as I steeply stumbled my way through morning fog. Although I am saddened by Roen's absence I know she will return  to me bursting at the seams with far away tales and warm embraces. So this silence fills me not with melancholy but with a calm understanding of time and love.

Although early I know today will be good. After all I am loved and safe here in our home.

Dream softly my love.

Always,

-Willow
